In 2014 the Flames, in their first year competing as an MCLA Division 1 team, grabbed wins against several quality opponents and held a star-studded Michigan State team to a one-goal game, but it wasn’t enough to garner national recognition for one of the SELC’s top teams, as it ended up being a one-bid conference despite being by far the largest in the MCLA.

Over Thanksgiving break I had the chance to speak to two of IU lacrosse’s newest Hoosiers, Matthew Redish and Daniel Harris. Both rookies have made a big splash with the lacrosse program so far and spoke with me about their first semester on and off the field in Bloomington.

Our first ever Wolf of the MCLA hails from Lourdes University in Ohio. Jared Yoshino, a sophomore attackman for the Grey Wolves, is a predator on the lacrosse field. He was selected as a team captain his freshman season and averaged 6.5 points per game.

The Asbury University men's lacrosse team took another step forward in preparation for their inaugural season this coming Spring. Prior to Sunday the team had no league affiliations, but the team found out Sunday they will be playing in the Southeast Lacrosse Conference (SELC) beginning in the 2015 season.
