SELC D2 Power Rankings – What Is “There There? Liberty?”

Scott MacPherson is back with Power Rankings for the SELC D2. He also talks about the recent SCAD – Liberty game and what this means for the future of the SELC D2. Is Liberty the new power on the block?

It’s spring break and there were almost zero significant games in the SELC D2.

SCAD did travel to Lynchburg, VA to play Liberty. SCAD defeated Liberty 9-6. Trying to make some sense out of the box score. Liberty lead after the 1st quarter 2-0. Was SCAD “BUS LAGGED”? I don’t know. SCAD went on to score 7 of the next 8 goals to take a 7-3 lead into the 4th. Liberty outscored SCAD 3-2 in the 4th quarter. SCAD goalie had 20 saves,  and this tells me Liberty had plenty of offensive opportunities, which in interesting.

I know SCAD is very good, I saw them in the fall and in the 2011 SELC Championships.

I’m not sure what all my mumbling is telling me about LIBERTY.  I can only say that I feel that “There is something there, there” but I don’t know what it is. Maybe someone can give me the lowdown on LIBERTY and tell me what the “THERE, THERE” is!

  1. Liberty looked very decent in the game against SCAD. They have three well rounded attackman, and a decent line of midfielders. They were turnover prone from quarter 1 all the way through the 4th quarter. Power outages, and key defensive injury really killed SCAD’s momentum well into the 4th quarter. Overall Liberty looked good with a really decent ride, limiting SCADs transition goals. There was no doubt that SCAD outplayed Liberty and overall dominated the matchup.

    1. i wouldnt say they dominated…Liberty had a few shots off the pipes that would of altered the momentum of the game. But yes i agree SCAD outplayed liberty and took advantage of their opportunities
