SELC D2 – Games Of Interest This Weekend – SAILFISH Visit BEEs

Scott MacPherson previews the big games of interest this weekend for the SELC D2! Headlining the group is Palm Beach Atlantic and Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).

This weekend’s games bring us to the last month of the SELC D2 regular season. It’s all about winning division games and gettin’ one of those divisional SELC Championship Tourney spots!

Sat. March 24th – Savannah, GA – Palm Beach Atlantic @ SCAD – How is this not a HUGE game?  Two of the top teams in the SELC D2 are meeting.  Seeding and pride are on the line.  This should be a fantastic game.

Sat. March 24th – Davidson, NC – App. State @ Davidson –  This is a division game. Davidson is 1-1 and the Mountaineers 0-1. A loss for the Mountaineers puts them in a tough 0-2 hole and ELON is one of their remaining division games. I don’t want to say this is a must win game for the Mountaineers, but it is! Davidson is in a similar situation, 1-1 in division, a win takes’em to 2-1 with division/SELC power ELON looming the next day.

Sat. March 24th – Waleska, GA – Tennessee Wesleyan @ Reinhardt – This is TWC’s (0-0) first division game, Reinhardt is 1-0. Reihardt has been slumping in recent games, including a 10-9 loss to Wofford. TWC destroyed Reinhardt 26-1 last year. But it’s a new year and a victory for Reinhardt gets them to 2-0 in division, which in a 3 game division schedule, makes things very interesting.

Sun. March 25th – Charlotte, NC – Wofford @ UNC Charlotte – UNCC is winless this season and Wofford just got their first victory of the season. Both are 0-2 in the division, and this is a division game. The loser is out of the playoff picture. The winner get a chance to salvage their season.

Sun. March 25th – Davidson, NC – ELON @ Davidson – If Davidson loses on saturday to Appalachian State, Davidson has to beat division rival ELON. A loss to ELON gives Davidson a 1-3 division record and ends their playoff hopes. Davidson is 0 for 6 in their last 6 games with ELON.

  1. I did bash Indiana earlier this season for having a very weak schedule but it’s great to see a new team rise to power in the GRLC and hopefully can break into the top 25 and be a consistent power unlike other GRLC teams besides former member Lindenwood.
