It’s time for the “We Can” Attitude.

EN: Scott MacPherson is back with a preview of the big SELC games this weekend!  Clemson heads West, and there are some huge games with big time implications!  Check out the full weekend preview below!

SELC D1 Lacrosse
SELC D1 is booming!

Get on the road-trip and catch some SELC action. I will be in Blacksburg and Richmond, VA this weekend, where will you be?

It’s the Wild West!

Clemson @ Colorado, Vs. New Hampshire, Vs. Nebraska – Clemson takes its road show West, to build its resume for the MCLA Championship tourney. As best I can tell, Clemson has never played any of these teams, so it is a bit of an adventure for the Tigers. A well earned trip for Clemson, who are playing at a high level and representing the SELC in inter-conference play very well.

Fri. March 16th – Greenville, NC – NC State @ East Carolina – This is a Northeast division game and the SELC is all about division games! NC State holds a 3-2 series edge over the last 5 games. East Carolina is 0-2 in the division, a loss takes the Pirates out of SELC Playoff contention. A Pirate victory puts them back in the playoff race with a tie-breaker lead over the Wolfpack. NC State has won the last three in a row, convincingly.

Sat. March 17th – Blacksburg, VA – South Carolina @ Virginia Tech – This is not a divisional contest.  And while Virginia Tech is “red hot”, South Carolina is still trying to find some consistency. South Carolina is 0 for 6 in the last six contests with the Hokies. The last Hokie victory was an overtime thriller, 11-10, in the first round of the 2011 SELC Championship.

The Gamecocks lead the entire game, but a furious Virginia Tech comeback in the 4th sent the game to overtime and an OT victory for the Hokies.  Of all the games I saw at the 2011 SELC Championships, this was the best game. I’ll be there this year, so follow me on twitter @COCKSLAX_REPORT  and my blog, for updates.

Sun. March 18th – Richmond, VA – South Carolina @ Richmond – This is also “not” a division game. Richmond is 4-0 and streaking. Gamecocks and the Spiders have not played before. I am very interested to see Richmond play and how the Gamecocks respond after playing Virginia Tech on Saturday. I’ll be there, so follow me on twitter @COCKSLAX_REPORT and my blog, for updates.
