I told you a few weeks ago about the new MCLA team in Ohio ready to make waves, Lourdes University Grey Wolves.
Well, waves they have made indeed. The first year DII program from the northwest corner of Ohio are dominating, and I’m not using that term lightly.
In the first five games of the season, Lourdes have gone 5-0 and have outscored their opponents a staggering, 95 to 25.
Their closest margin was knocking off Oakland in their very first game, 14-6.
Now, the Grey Wolves are boasting a national rank of 22nd, which I don’t see lasting long. Either Sienna Heights and/or Dayton will knock them down a peg, or Lourdes will continue to roll and they will quickly make their way to a much higher ranked spot in division two.
I can’t think of a team that made this much of a splash in their first year in the MCLA, the numbers are scary and the scoring machine appears unstoppable…I think I became a Grey Wolves’ fan almost over night.
Andy DiMartini and Danny Bichsel have both already earned Wolverine-Hoosier (WHAC) Player of the Week awards in back-to-back weeks, a very impressive honor when standing up next to great players from Indiana Tech, SHSU, Aquinas, Lawrence and more.
The Grey Wolves will be traveling to Sienna Heights on Wednesday night, which will be a big game that should finally give them a challenge.
I hope to see you at the National Championships, Lourdes University.
