As usual, BHSVideoDad brings the ruckus when he puts together a highlight clip.
This time, Oregon took on Cal Poly and the Ducks came away with a win, even if it wasn’t pretty. It was a huge win for the Ducks, as Cal Poly was ranked 7th and the Ducks 15th. Rankings have shifted obviously since then. The Ducks went scoreless from 30 seconds in the first until about 3 minutes remained in the 3rd. Cal Poly has some tough, great defensive players and they were able to press out very effectively, which kept the Ducks on edge when in possession. Early in the fourth the Ducks began to flow a bit more, and scored 4 straight, tallying 5 in the quarter overall.
Oregon’s goalie Nick Johnston had a .714 save % for the day and really helped Oregon stay in what proved to be a tense game, with an exciting fourth quarter. Oregon came off a 22-14 win on Friday night over their Canadian arch rival, Simon Fraser, so for the Ducks it was a huge, and much needed, weekend.
The Ducks still need to beat SFU in the PNCLL Championship (assuming they get there!) to assure a place in Denver. Who wants to be 16th seed and play Michigan anyway?[stu alias="fivestar1"][/stu]
