UPDATED With Video: Chapman vs San Diego Pictures

Updated by Editor:  SouthSwell Sports TV put together a great little highlight video for this game and yes, San Diego’s uniforms are just as bright in action as they are in photographs.  Tough, physical game for sure!  Krieg nailed this one!

FYI: Video should work now! Thanks for the heads up.

This past weekend, Chapman traveled to San Diego to take on USD. In what looked to be a very hard-hitting game, the Panthers came out on top 10-5. After a close first quarter ending tied up at 2-2, Chapman came out firing and would score three goals to take the lead 5-3 going into the half. After halftime the Panthers came out and put three more on the board and held the Toreros to just one goal again and led 8-4 at the end of the third., then taking the game 10-5. The Panthers were led by William Morrison (Sr, A) with 4 g, 1 a. For the full gallery of the pictures, head over to San Diego’s resident photographer, Scippix from Smugmug.com. These are always great pictures, every team needs a quality photographer. Check out some of our favorites below.

Definitely a hard-hitting game.
A good look at each team's new swag for the season. Shout out to #34, our Idaho boy at Chapman.
Nice rip from Chapman.
Answered right back by USD.
The game even had a little halftime entertainment.

  1. I’m pretty sure that top pic is what the rules committee is talking about when emphasizing flagrant high hits to the head. Looks like a 2 min penalty to me.

  2. Too bad that now with Dewan gone from their coaching staff, USD is not even as legit as their uniforms. After watching Chaptown dominate that entire game, USD for sure won’t have a winning record or make the play-offs

    1. Too bad that this game was much closer than any other Chapman and USD game in the past. You wouldn’t expect it to be this close considering DeWan is now the defensive coach at Chapman and spend the last two seasons at USD. And I wouldn’t say that Chapman dominated the entire game.

      1. Neither team could get into the flow this game due to a total of 17 penalties (10 chapman/7 USD). 1st game of the year is always a toss up while teams are trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t. FYI Dewan is a one day a week coach from what I hear at Chapman, not the D coach.

The University of South Florida Bulls: Miami (FL) Trip

Coming into Saturday the Bulls won three straight games and were hungry to make it four. They were also on an away winning streak of three games since their season opening loss to the Seminoles of Florida State University. This game would be important if the Bulls wanted to make a run at the SELC tournament since Miami (FL) was a divisional opponent in the Southeast. The University of Miami (FL), would be the last away regular season game of the season, and the South Florida Bulls wouldn't be denied.
