This is the opening salvo of the 2012 SELC D1 POWER RANKINGS. Same drill as last year. I take a look at the SELC D1 games from the previous weeks action and rank the teams. We always start with the SELC D1 coaches poll.

#1 FSU survived a scare from UCF and an upstart USF. #2 Clemson start the season with 2 divisional victories. The top 7 from the coaches poll remain intact. Auburn jumps 7 places to #8 after a 1 goal win over #8 Tennessee, who drops to #10. I know, seems like a lot but I am a bit “bi-polar” when it comes to power rankings. #20 South Florida moved 7 places to #13 after a very nice “loss” to FSU. Georgia Tech moved down 5 places after their 9-2 loss/win to D2 Kennesaw State. Yes I penalized GT for there forfeit win, big it seems the righted the ship with a nice win over Mississippi.
