UO Men’s Lacrosse Captains Named
Eugene, Oregon – January 23, 2012 – The University of Oregon Men’s lacrosse team is looking to three-peat as PNCLL Champions and has elected Spencer Robertson and Nate Tuman to lead the charge.
After a team wide vote last week, the Ducks players’ have chosen the senior duo of midfielder and defender to be their captains for the 2012 season.
“(Spencer and) I are both very honored to be named captains, especially for our senior season,” Tuman stated. “We have a great core group of returning players and upperclassmen that will mesh well with another strong recruiting class.”
Tuman was limited to only six games last season due to injury but remained a devoted leader through it all. A firm believer in leading by example, Tuman will look to continue to vocally chief Oregon both on and off the field.
Robertson had a career season last year for the Ducks and looks to maintain the offensive hot hand. With 41 points stemming from eight assists and a team-leading 33 goals, Robertson earned the 2011 PNCLL MVP award along with PNCLL 1st Team All-Conference and MCLA 2nd Team All-American honors.
“(I am) very excited to be elected captain and plan on continuing our dominance of the PNCLL this season.” Robertson exclaimed. “We have a great schedule put together against worthy competition and plan on bringing the first MCLA championship to Oregon this year.”
Oregon’s quest for the championship begins against Cal-Berkeley on Saturday, February 11 at 1:00 pm at the University of Oregon.
