UR vs. SVU

Richmond, VA (March, 13 2012) – The University of Richmond Spiders continued their winning ways with a 23-5 thrashing of the Knights from Southern Virginia University. The game saw nine different Spider players post multi-point games, led by junior attack Jack Hayden (Purchase, NY / Fordham Prep) who registered a game-high 7 points with 5 goals and 2 assists and Senior attack Chris Rigoli (Wrentham, MA/Xaverian Bros) with six points, 5 goals and 1 assist. Sixteen total Spiders had points in the victory.

The Spiders outshot the Knights 60 to 20 and controlled the ground balls 42 to 24. Sophomore Chris Wolfe (Greenwich, CT/Greenwich) led the team with five groundball while also chipping in 2 goals. The Spider goalies combined for seven saves in the win.

The Spiders went on to host the Hill Academy PG’s in a scrimmage on Wednesday evening and while they came up on the losing end 19-9, they gained much needed experience heading into the second half of the season. The Hill Academy is a post graduate prep school that preps players for NCAA Division 1 schools. Hayden once again led the scoring for the Spiders with 4 goals and 2 assists.Richmond
