Eugene, OR — Head Coach Phil Keebler announced the University of Oregon’s 2013 schedule that includes a 14 game regular season. Only five of the Ducks 14 regular season games will be played at home.
All seven of the Ducks opponents outside the PNCLL finished the 2012 season ranked in the final poll. Those opponents include: Chapman, BYU, Colorado, Cal, Sonoma State, Stanford, and Chico State. Furthermore, Chapman, BYU, Colorado and Cal were all MCLA Tournament selections.
The 2013 season will kick off on February 6th with a home game against Western Oregon University, the 2012 PNCLL DII Champions.
The Ducks first conference game comes just one week later when the Clansmen of Simon Fraser University travel down to Eugene on Wednesday, February 13th. The Ducks and Clansmen met twice last year, both in the regular season and in the PNCLL Championship game. The Ducks won both contests. This year’s match-up poses a tough, early test for Oregon.
“This will be a huge game. Simon Fraser has traditionally been our biggest competitor in league. The rivalry between the teams has grown over the years, and always brings strong competition and intensity. There’s no one we’d rather face to kick of our season,” said senior defenseman Ben Smood.
The Ducks will then fly to southern California to face Chapman, and Stanford at UCLA in the Pac-12 Shootout. After hosting Washington the following week, the Ducks will travel to Boise to take on Boise State and Colorado.
Sonoma State and Chico State will then make the trip to Eugene in successive weeks to take on the Ducks in two out of conference games.
The Ducks will head down to northern California for their spring break trip to take on the Golden Bears of Cal, and the Cougars of BYU.
Oregon will travel to Bend, OR, to face the Idaho Vandals, then visit Portland State, and play Oregon State in a neutral site game at West Linn High School.
