Last year’s inaugural Beanshot Lacrosse Tournament went off without a hitch and was a huge success for some summer MCLA lacrosse. Northeastern would take the title with a 9-5 victory over New Hampshire in the Championship game.

This year, Muscle Milk has teamed up with the Boston Cannons to make the 2nd year even better! All four teams from last year, Northeastern, New Hampshire, UConn, and Boston will return for another run at glory.

In partnering with the Cannons, the Championship will take place on the very field where the Boston Cannons will host the New York Lizards following the Tournament. How about that?!

This year’s Beanshot Tournament has the makings to be even better than last year, which has us asking one question. Why aren’t other MCLA teams trying to organize something like this?

Boston Cannons and Muscle Milk® Team Up For the Second Annual Beanshot Lacrosse Tournament

BOSTON, Mass. (June 18, 2013)—Muscle Milk® has teamed up with the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) to host the second annual Muscle Milk Beanshot college lacrosse tournament.  This New England tradition features men’s programs from Northeastern (the reigning champions), Boston University, the University of New Hampshire and the University of Connecticut who will vie for the cup in the one-day tournament on Friday, June 21 at Harvard Stadium.

The Muscle Milk Beanshot will consist of two semi-final matches and one championship match to decide who has the best club team in the Northeast. The semifinal matches will start at 2 p.m. with the championship kicking off at5 p.m. on the field at Harvard Stadium.

“The Cannons are excited to once again team up with Muscle Milk to host the second annual Muscle Mile Beanshot college lacrosse tournament,” said Boston Cannons General Manager Kevin Barney.   “Showcasing four top college programs prior to the Cannons game provides even more value to our fans coming out on June 21.  The Cannons’ mission is to grow the game of lacrosse at all levels in New England and partnering with Muscle Milk for this event is a great way to bring youth, college and professional lacrosse together.”

Admission to the Muscle Milk Beanshot semi-finals games is free and open to the public.  The championship game will take place on the stadium field at 5 p.m. prior to the Cannons vs. New York Lizards game.  A ticket is required to enter the stadium for the championship game and Cannons game.  Tickets will be available at a discounted rate of $13 ($18 face value) for students and alumni. Discounted Cannons vs. Lizards tickets must be purchased over the phone by calling 617-746-9933 by noon on Friday, June 21.

Muscle Milk will also honor local high school athletes during the event and invited the 18 Muscle Milk High School Players of the Week to watch the Beanshot and participate in an exclusive meet-and-greet with Cannons attackman and Muscle Milk athlete Kevin Buchanan.
