Henry Bishop
Vancouver, WA, Jesuit High School
Senior, Midfield, 6’3” 195 lbs

Henry is now a second year captain and is entering his third year as a starter on middy line one. Last season he won PNCLL Honorable Mention All-Conference with 21 goals and 7 assists for 2.8 points a game.

“I would like us to develop into a better offense with multiple threats, last year was too one dimensional,” said Bishop, “Coaches have practices running smooth, everybody is showing up and things are coming together.”

Chuck Forsyth
Bainbridge Island, WA, Bainbridge High School
Senior, Defense, 6′ 210 lbs

Chuck is the anchor of the defense, who is also entering his second year as team captain. Chuck is known for his crushing hits and devastating slides.

“I want the defense to set the tempo for the game,” Chuck stated, “Disrupting offenses by outworking them, playing out on them, and out run them for 60 minutes.”

Left: Junior Captain Goalie #2 Hank Vieten     Right: Sophomore Captain Defense #12 Cody Dems

Hank Vieten
Etna, NH, Hanover High School
Junior, Goalie, 6′ 190 lbs

Hank is back in between the pipes for his third year as a starter. Last year Vieten had 222 stops for a 60% save percentage and was the contributing factor for the best scoring defense the Griz have had.

“This is the most exciting group of players we have had in recent years, we have talent across the board and players that are going to grow,” Hank said, “We have a lot of potential and we need to reach that potential.”

Cody Dems
Littleton, CO, Chatfield Senior High School
Sophomore, Defense, 6′ 180 lbs

Cody was the team’s Freshman of the Year for 2012 and PNCLL Honorable Mention All-Conference at Defense. As the team’s best lock-off defender, he held the task of covering the opposing team’s best Attackman.

“I’m excited and honored to have this position, but lacrosse is a team sport and it takes all of us to make things happen,” Cody proclaimed, “I’m going to do my best to be an example but beyond that it’s up to us to do our best together.”

The season kicks off Sat Feb 23 in Corvallis against the Oregon State Beavers.
