Editor’s note: We got word from our boy Andrew Joly the other day about a big lax event coming to St. Louis. After reading about the event, I can assuredly tell you that this is going to be awesome. The National Champs of MCLA D2 and several other top MCLA D2 schools all meeting together at the Gateway to the West means one thing, an awesome weekend of lacrosse. Better yet, the games will be streamed LIVE! I can’t wait.

The Missouri Baptist University Men’s Lacrosse Program is excited to announce that they will be hosting the 2012 St. Louis Invitational March 15-19.  The teams in attendance are comprised of teams including: 2011 National Champions Davenport University and the 2009 and 2010 National Champions St. Thomas University.  Other teams accepting the invitation are: North Dakota State University who finished at number 8 in the national polls, Kennesaw State University who finished at number 17, and Northern Colorado University who finished at 25 in the Coaches’ poll.  The Invitational will be hosted by Missouri Baptist University (#14) and Missouri State University (#21).

One of the most exciting match ups that MCLA fans can expect is the 2011 MCLA National Championship re-match between Davenport and St. Thomas, both Coach Moosbrugger and Coach Clarkson were both adamant on seeing their squads square off in St. Louis.  Another great match up that is sure to be exciting is Davenport vs. NDSU, Coach Clarkson and the Panthers are looking for redemption from one of their few losses that Coach Bosch and the Bison handed to them last season inMinnesota.

Missouri Baptist Head Coach Andy Joly had this to say, “I couldn’t be more excited about this event, this has been something I’ve wanted to do ever since I started the program at MBU.  We are very fortunate to be located in St. Louis which provides a great central location for some of the Nation’s best teams.” Joly hopes to have all of the weekends’ games streamed live online.
