B- | The WCLL plays an extensive conference schedule. Each team plays every team in conference. Since the conference schedule is lengthy, the Jacks don’t have a ton of room to add more games, but we are intrigued with their games against teams from Oregon. They should have another successful season!

2/8 – Southern Oregon (Home)
2/22 – Western Oregon (Away)
2/23 – Portland (Away)
3/1 – Saint Marys (Away)*
3/2 – San Jose State (Away)*

4/12 – Nevada-Reno (Away)*
4/13 – Sierra Nevada (Away)*
4/19 – UC Santa Cruz (Home)*
4/20 – Cal St Monterey Bay (Home)*
4/26 – Pacific (Home)*

University of Nevada-Reno : 2103 (9 – 4)/(5 – 1)

B | The UNLV matchup will be challenging for Reno. Their schedule is similar to Humboldt, with slightly more challenging opponents out of conference.

2/8 – UC Davis (Home)
2/15 – Saint Marys (Away)*
2/16 – Pacific (Away)*
2/22 – UNLV (Away)

B+ | The Gaels have an interesting schedule of out conference, they take on a wide spread of teams from the West. If the can get the wheels turning early, they could be a sleeper pick to win the WCLL.

2/6 – Biola (Away)
2/8 – Occidental (Away)
2/15 – Nevada-Reno (Home)*
2/16 – Cal St Monterey Bay (Away)*

3/8 – Cal State Fullerton (Home)
3/12 – UC Santa Cruz (Home)
3/15 – Sierra Nevada (Home)*
3/23 – Western Oregon (Home)
3/25 – Fort Lewis (Home)
4/2 – Cal St San Marcos (Home)*
4/13 – Gonzaga (Away)
4/15 – Portland (Away)
4/26 – San Jose State (Away)*

University of California-Santa Cruz : 2013 (5 – 9)/(2 – 4)

B | Santa Cruz is taking on a solid mix of D1 and quality D2 teams. They managed to pack in a bunch of good games around the lengthy conference schedule. Keep your eyes on Santa Cruz this season.

2/8 – Santa Clara (Home)
2/22 – UC Merced (Home)+
3/1 – Southern Oregon (Away)
3/2 – Portland (Away)
3/8 – Sierra Nevada (Home)*
3/12 – Saint Marys (Away)*
3/25 – Cal State Fullerton (Away)
3/28 – Biola (Away)
3/30 – UCLA (Away)
4/5 – Nevada-Reno (Home)*
4/6 – Pacific (Home)*
4/12 – San Jose State (Home)*
4/19 – Humboldt State (Away)*
4/26 – Cal St Monterey Bay (Away)*

University of the Pacific : 2013 (3 – 6)/(2 – 4)

C | Pacific’s schedule is just too short for our liking, if they don’t do well in the conference, they have no change of an overall winning record. They have the same amount of games as last year, we would like to see more than a nine game season.

2/1 – Saint Marys (Home)*
2/15 – San Jose State (Away)*
2/16 – Nevada-Reno (Home)*
2/22 – San Francisco (Home)+
2/25 – Southern Oregon (Home)
2/29 – Sierra Nevada (Home)*
4/4 – Cal St San Marcos (Home)
4/6 – UC Santa Cruz (Away)*
4/12 – Cal St Monterey Bay (Home)*
4/26 – Humboldt State (Away)*

From the MCLA survey:
Players to Watch
Keaton Galbraith – Freshman Attack
Mike Jones – Junior Midfield
Mat Quackenbush – Sophomore Strong D
Alex Lecko – Junior Attack
Derek Bakken – Freshman Goalie

San Jose State University : 2013 (3 – 6)/(2 – 4)

B | We expected a building year for SJSU, but it looks like the Spartans have something to prove. It looks like they also could be a sleeper team in the conference if they can momentum up and carry it all the way through the end of the season. It will be tough due to the scheduling of conference games as five of their last six matches.

2/15 – Pacific (Home)*
2/21 – UC San Diego (Away)
2/23 – Cal St San Marcos (Away)
3/2 – Humboldt State (Home)*
3/9 – Cal State Fullerton (Home)
3/23 – Fort Lewis (Home)
3/30 – Cal St Monterey Bay (Away)*
4/6 – Chico State (Home)
4/12 – UC Santa Cruz (Away)*
4/18 – Nevada-Reno (Away)*
4/20 – Sierra Nevada (Away)*
4/26 – Saint Marys (Home)*

California State University-Monterey Bay : 2013 (0 – 6)/(0 – 6)

D+ | They only have one game out of conference and a scrimmage on their schedule so far. We hoped for more games against middle of the road competition to help build up the program and collect wins.

2/8 – Notre Dame deNamur (Home)+
2/16 – Saint Marys (Home)*
2/22 – Sierra Nevada (Home)*
3/8 – Nevada-Reno (Away)*
3/30 – San Jose State (Home)*
4/6 – Cal St San Marcos (Home)
4/12 – Pacific (Away)*
4/20 – Humboldt State (Away)*
4/26 – UC Santa Cruz (Home)*

Sierra Nevada College : New for 2013 (0 – 0)/(0 – 0)

D+ | Although they didn’t compete last year, we hope for more than just one game out of conference. If the WCLL is strong this year, Sierra Nevada could easily go winless, which is no fun, but expected, for a beginner program.

2/22 – Cal St Monterey Bay (Away)*
3/2 – UC Davis (Away)
3/8 – UC Santa Cruz (Away)*
3/15 – Saint Marys (Away)*
3/29 – Pacific (Away)*
4/13 – Humboldt State (Home)*
4/20 – San Jose State (Home)*
4/26 – Nevada-Reno (Away)*
