A | A few key victories and the Zags can celebrate a PNCLL DII playoff birth, and perhaps a national ranking. But is that what excites the players most, or is it the mid-April Saint Mary’s match-up? That’s a game bound to draw out a fun crowd. Careful Gael lacrosse players, those DeSmet boys are vicious.

B | From what I’ve heard about Bellingham, Washington, it’s one of those places people enjoy so much they never want to leave. Guess that’s why the Western Washington Vikings made sure the season’s longest voyage was just 10 hours both ways! But seriously though, kudos to the Western Washington Vikings for signing up to play the SFU Clan on Feb 8th!

C  (potential to earn an A) | UPS has an average schedule and that gets them the C. That being said, we’d love to see all the UPS Loggers take the field onFeb 22nd at Gonzaga using wooden lacrosse shafts. If all the players do this, we will raise the grade. That’s a LaxAllStars promise.

A+ | Twice as many games as WWU. Twice as many games as UPS. Kellen and Brink, what are were you thinking? Bet it was something like, “our players love lacrosse, so lacrosse we shall give them!” Solid mix of competition, it will be interesting to see how the handle the pressure.

D+ | Anything will be better than last year for the Lutes. The schedule, as of now, is much too short, but we can tell they’re looking to improve overall. Time to bring the spirit of Frosty Westering to the table.

A | The Wolves went 11-4 last year, 4-0 in conference, and enjoyed a trip across country for the MCLA National Tournament. This year is already off to a decent start as they gave the Oregon Ducks a game, falling 11 to 14. Last year’s schedule was similar except conference play was stacked toward the end. This season, first year head coach Steve Blair needs to have the Wolves ready to win the in-conference games that matter starting March 1st.

B | Intriguing schedule this season for Portland. Road threat barely exists, and they are stacked at home. They team should be pretty happy that coach hooked up a home heavy schedule this season. Playing 11 regular season games is no easy feat.

4/12 – Gonzaga (Home)
4/15 – Saint Marys (Home)

Southern Oregon University : 2013 (4 – 10)/(2 – 2)

B+ | Fifteen games this season for SOU. Let’s hope the 19 guys on the Raiders roster can stay healthy and into it. Six out of 19 being freshman has be a bit worried that one of the three (3!) seniors who run the team is going to end up carrying a lot of weight this season. Our over/under for how points per game Tom Halley will average is 7. Fun mix of competition, we’re excited for Portland this season.

College of Idaho yotes 2013

A- | Coach Gier at the College of Idaho just gets it, he got the season started out of town so the guys can get the gears turning and fix the kinks before theirs friends, families, and girlfriends get to watch them play in person. Next is spring BREAK,and after they finish out on Idaho soil with heated competition. RESULT: Everyone is happy with the fact they paid to play, plus he won’t have to worry about groggy players on game days, they have all spring break to get it out of their system.

B- | Eight games, and two solid scrimmage. All solid match-ups for Whitman, and the best part is no one will have to worry about playing time this year! Roster size has gone down from 20 in 2013 to 15 this season. Plus they have a brand new goalie from Oakland!
