Michigan State University : 2013 (14 – 3)/(6 – 0)

A+ | The Spartans are taking on the best of the best this season. Both road stretches at the beginning of the season are going to be brutal. It’s going to be interesting to see how the Spartans fair against BYU, CU, and CSU this season. They’ll get an extensive 8 game home stand after the road stretch. They finish their season away which will help ease them into the playoffs. It’s not wrong to assume that last year’s conference champs won’t make it back to the playoffs this year. We are excited to seem them play a strong NCAA DIII program like Wittenberg.

University of Pittsburgh : 2013 (11 – 7)/(5 – 1)

Borrowed from Pitt Panther Facebook Page

A- | Pittsburgh is taking on some tough competition in and out of conference. They do face some high caliber D1 teams, but the games against the other middle of the road D1 & D2 teams drops their ranking just a bit. Pittsburgh is at the point in their program where they should be taking on more playoff quality teams. The 7 game road stretch leading up to the end of the season is going to be tough, especially since it’s contained to 4 weekends. And when they come out of it, they meet the Spartans at home. It’s a quality schedule but Pittsburgh should be testing themselves more and more every season.

Davenport University : 2013 (11 – 5)/(4 – 2)

Davenport Panthers Lacrosse - Jordan Richtsmeier

A+ | Davenport is stepping up their game this season. This is pretty surprising to see them going up against the conference champs and the runners up, and the MCLA tournament champ and runner up. We are excited to see how Davenport handles themselves against some of the best teams in D1. There might be a sleeper in Davenport, we will have to keep a set of eyes on the Panthers all season. Everyone might just be surprised.

2/16 – Toledo (Away)*
2/21 – Pittsburgh (Away)*

4/12 – Michigan State (Away)*
4/16 – Grand Valley State (Home)
4/19 – Siena Heights (Home)
4/20 – Minnesota (Home)

Central Michigan : 2013 (5 – 6)/(2 – 4)

B | Central Michigan has a nice mix of competition this season. They’re taking on quality D1 and D2 teams and teams that have similar records. This will help Central Michigan improve both on the field and with their record.

2/8 – Siena Heights (Home)
2/26 – Michigan State (Home)*

4/18 – Western Michigan (Away)*
4/19 – Toledo (Home)*

Western Michigan University : 2013 (4 – 9)/(2 – 4)

C | Western Michigan doesn’t have a whole lot going on in their schedule outside of divisional games. They take on GRLC champs, Purdue, and runner-up, Indiana, but that’s pretty much the highlight of the season. Their divisional games are spread out pretty evenly, allowing Western Michigan an opportunity to ride their momentum in and out of these match ups. Hopefully they can add a few more games this season. It looks like the Broncos are trying to improve on their record this season.

3/2 – Purdue (Home)
3/14 – Davenport (Home)*
3/22 – Michigan State (Away)*
3/28 – Indiana (Away)
3/28 – Illinois State (Away)
3/28 – MSU-Mankato (Home)
4/5 – Ohio University (Away)*
4/13 – Oakland (Home)
4/18 – Central Michigan (Home)*
4/27 – Toledo (Away)*

Ohio University : 2013 (4 – 7)/(2 – 4)

C | The Bobcats also has a relatively short schedule in comparison to other teams in the CCLA. They have a good mix of teams outside of their conference. All their divisional games sit right in the middle of the schedule which will be advantageous. It looks like the Bobcats have the same plans as the Broncos: short schedule with well-matched opponents to help improve their record.

2/15 – Davenport (Home)*
2/21 – Miami: OH (Away)
2/22 – Iowa (Away)
2/28 – West Virginia (Home)
3/15 – Michigan State (Home)*
3/22 – Central Michigan (Away)*
3/23 – Toledo (Away)*
3/29 – Pittsburgh (Home)*
4/5 – Western Michigan (Home)*
4/26 – Rhode Island (Away)
4/27 – SUNY-Buffalo (Away)

University of Toledo : 2013 (2 – 8)/(0 – 6)

B- | Toledo is using their schedule this year to improve their record.  They’re taking on a mix of high ranking D2 teams and middle of the road D1 teams with the exception of Indiana.  The slightly longer schedule will get them a few more games in comparison to Ohio U and Western Michigan, but that doesn’t mean it will work in their favor. We would like to see Toledo pick up at least one W in the CCLA this season. They might even pick up two if they can put away the Bobcats and Broncos. They came close last year, it’s not too much of a stretch to predict it will happen.

2/16 – Davenport (Home)*
2/22 – Northwood (Home)
2/28 – Miami: OH (Away)
3/1 – West Virginia (Home)
3/9 – Indiana (Away)
3/19 – Michigan State (Away)*
3/23 – Ohio University (Home)*
3/30 – Pittsburgh (Home)*
4/8 – Lawrence Tech (Home)
4/13 – Michigan-Dearborn (Home)
4/19 – Central Michigan (Away)*
4/27 – Western Michigan (Home)*
