Bloomington, IN – Head coach Peter Tumbas announced the men’s lacrosse schedule for the 2012 season yesterday, which features a fifteen game slate, and takes the Hoosiers as far south as Florida.
Indiana’s season begins with the Indianapolis Shootout, taking place March 2-4. The Shootout will pit the Hoosiers against conference opponent Illinois State and CCLA members Western Michigan and Toledo.
The following weekend will see the Hoosiers travel again as they head south to Florida, to play Virginia Tech and Florida State in Tallahassee March 10-11 during Spring Break. After the break, Indiana will meet Wisconsin, Marquette, and Auburn at the Chicago Shootout March 23-25.
Easter weekend, the Hoosiers host Butler on April 6th for their home opener. Ten days later, Indiana Tech visits April 16th to highlight the start of Little 500 Week.
Indiana will travel two hours north to West Lafayette for their last road game of the season and annual contest against school rival Purdue on April 18th.
The regular season concludes with home games against conference opponents Missouri April 27th and Illinois April 29th.
The Hoosiers, who return eight of their top ten leading scorers, including all-conference attackman Matt Anderson will look to improve upon last year’s 2-12 record. Peter Tumbas is in his 2nd season as head coach.
